Brand profile

Carrera y Carrera is one of the most well-known Spanish jewelers in the world. Headquartered in Madrid, San Agustí n del Guadalix, it dates back to 1885, when Saturio Esteban Carrera opened a small jewelry workshop in Barrio de las Letras.

In the 1970s, Manuel Carrera and Juan Jos é Carrera, great-grandchildren of Saturio Esteban Carrera, created the "Carrera y Carrera" brand. Its jewelry and watches are now exported to more than 40 countries, with offices in New York, Tokyo, Moscow and the United Arab Emirates.

Brand history

In 1885, Saturio Esteban Carrera moved from Alcalá to Madrid and opened a small jewelry workshop in Barrio de las Letras. His son, Jos é Esteban Carrera, returned to Madrid in 1920 after completing his gemological studies in Paris to continue his work in jewelry. His four nephews: Jos é, Saturio, Pedro and Andr é s were also involved. In the 1970s, Saturio's great-grandchildren Manuel Carrera and Juan José Carrera officially created the brand.

In 1960, the company was commissioned to order a wedding crown for Queen Fabiola of Belgium and King Baudouin of Belgium. After completing this achievement, the brand entered the ranks of luxury brands.

In 1979, Carrera y Carrera expanded to the United States, entering Russia in 1994 and opening its first boutique in China in 2013.

Celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Demi Moore, Lady GaGa, Olivia Wilde, Olivia Palermo and Christina Hendricks often wear works designed by Carrera y Carrera.

Carrera y Carrera draws inspiration from nature to form a unique brand style. Felines, snakes, elephants and more are all important parts of Carrera's jewelry zoo. In 1978, the Bonadea series and the Las Manos series were introduced. In 2000, Princess Miriam of Tarnovo joined the design team to launch the mythical series Jardin de Rosas ("Rose Garden"), in which the Lago de Rosas ("Rose Lake") ring became one of the brand's best-selling designs. In 2004, inspired by the oriental mysterious imagery dragon, the Círculos de Fuego series was born.

Now, the Maja de los Goya Award of the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Golden Eagle Award (Russia) of the Russian National Academy of Cinematic Arts are designed by Carrera y Carrera.
