How high does a diamond need to have clarity?

May 12, 2023
How to identify diamond clarity?
Overall, it is difficult to determine the clarity level of diamonds with the naked eye. It is usually a very small inclusion, and diamonds can have different birthmarks, but these birthmarks cannot diminish the brilliance of the diamond. To ensure the clarity and correct price of the diamonds you purchased, you can check the content on the certificate.

You can see the identification and proof of diamond purity on the certificate. There are many abbreviations used here, and we will further explain them for you.

What does the abbreviation on the certificate mean?
The abbreviation for flawless diamond is IF, which stands for 'immaculate within'. This is very rare, and of course, the price of IF diamonds is also high. In order to obtain a cost-effective choice, we suggest that you choose a VS2 (slightly contained) diamond, which is completely invisible to the naked eye, or a SI1 (slightly contained) diamond, which is almost invisible to the naked eye, or only slightly visible.

Of course, the quality of diamond cutting can also have an impact on the price. During the cutting process, different cutting levels determine the final flicker and color of the diamond. Their ratings range from 'Poor' to 'Extremely Excellent'.

What determines the quality of diamonds?

The price of diamonds depends not only on cleanliness. On your certificate, you will find information about Diamond 4C. These four elements will be checked at authoritative diamond appraisal centers (such as GIA) before they can be sold. Do you want to obtain diamonds with good quality and affordable prices? Then let yourself receive guidance from a diamond consultant.
