Van Cleef & Arpels Diamond Breeze Lotus pendant

Van Cleef & Arpels unveiled these three lotus-shaped pendants in this winter's newly released Diamond Breeze collection, inspired by the snow-covered natural world of winter, where the designers accentuated the purity of the lotus through the quiet white of the diamond paired with white gold.

White diamond jewelry was particularly prevalent during the Art Deco period, between the 1950s and 1960s, when Van Cleef & Arpels made collars, bracelets and brooches in all-white tones. This set continues Van Cleef & Arpels' dedication to diamond sparkle, using delicate diamond paving to give the lotus a more realistic, three-dimensional shape.

The designer carefully observed the shape of the lotus flower and created petals of increasing size, surrounded by a bright round diamond in the center, symbolizing the flower bud of the lotus flower. To suit different pendant sizes, Van Cleef & Arpels also experimented with a wide range of settings in this collection, such as the "Perle de Rosée" quarry setting, the "Pave Setting" pavé setting, and the cutout process to give the diamond a brighter glow.

In addition to being a pendant, these three pieces of jewelry can also be disassembled and worn with a brooch, making everyday wear more possible.
