The pendant is a 14 ct pear-cut tanzanite with a necklace partially encrusted with amethyst, rubellite, ruby, tanzanite, paraíba tourmaline and sapphire, and the base is made of white gold and titanium.
Inspired by The Nature theme, this necklace is from Chopard's High Jewellery collection this year, featuring a peacock feather that wraps around its neck. The designer boldly used "titanium" as the base material, and "electroplated purple" to set off the natural color of the gemstone, highlighting the colorful color of the feathers.
"Titanium" is a silvery-white rare metal with the advantages of light weight, high strength, and excellent corrosion resistance, which can produce different colors through anodizing. However, due to its high hardness, "titanium" is more difficult to mold and process.
Chopard cleverly blends "titanium" and "white gold" in his design, and the curved structure on the back of the necklace is made of titanium, plated in a deep purple, with amethyst and ruby; The more complex structure of the feathers is made of platinum, which makes the curly feathers more vivid and realistic.
The asymmetrical design of this work naturally connects two feathers of different colors – one with red as the main hue, inlaid with pink tourmaline, and the end of the feather with ruby tassels; The other branch is dominated by blue, with soft feathers lined with sapphire, amethyst, tanzanite and Paraíba tourmaline, forming a rich color layer, and a 14-carat teardrop-cut tanzanite hanging at the bottom of the necklace, making it the most eye-catching "feather eye" of peacock feathers.
