Bulgari unveiled this necklace in this year's new fine jewelry collection Magnificent Inspirations, recreating Bulgari's classic Serpenti snake-like motif in a geometric structure that makes the pieces more simple and modern. The top of the snake's head is specially set with a bright cushion-shaped sapphire, which has become a new and iconic element of serpentine jewelry.
Inspired by the Bulgari snake bracelets of the 1960s and 1970s, you can see hexagonal snake scales in the designs of the time, painted by dark enamel such as red, green and blue, forming a honeycomb-like bracelet wall structure.
The designer incorporated hexagonal elements into the pendant shaped like a snake's head to form a three-dimensional head silhouette, and the hexagonal frame was paved with round-cut and baguette-cut diamonds to create a rich sense of layering. The serpent's eye is set with two teardrop-shaped rubies topped with a cushion-shaped sapphire center stone to make the work even more gorgeous.
To echo the pendant design, the designer also incorporated narrow, hexagonal links in the necklace section, set with long, and round-cut diamonds, interspersed with small sapphires, rubies and diamonds.
